In 2005, I launched a tiny little spa on a groovy little street called Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Little did I know that this street was destined to become the “coolest block in America” and that my little nitespa would allow me to meet some of the coolest people in the world and change my life forever.
We’ve manicured and massaged rock stars, artists, admen (and women) , madmen, lawyers, writers, photographers, famous actors, aspiring actors, starchitects, Chefs, train drivers and train wrecks. We’ve been a destination on reality shows and tried out for Shark Tank. We’ve won awards. We’ve had more parties than we can count. We’ve made more mistakes than I can count.
Everyone always asks me how did you come up with the idea for nitespa? Well, there are at least a dozen different inspirations and eventually I will write them all here on this blog. The short answer is that it came to me in a dream. But it really is about creating something with all the rich and textured fabric of my life.
I have a come a long, long way in the world of beauty and wellness in the last 10 years and I have learned so very much that I feel it is my duty to share all of these health tips and beauty secrets with whoever wants to listen.
I’m not your typical spa junkie or beauty enthusiast. I rarely wear make-up and I retox more often than I detox. But what I have learned on this journey is that maybe anyone and everyone is curious about this wellness spa thing. You don’t have to be a Malibu mom or a pilates babe to frequent a spa. We often have a day (or night) full of dudes getting pedis and massages, back waxes and facials. Yep. it’s that kind of spa.
I promote beauty from within and truly believe that everyone is beautiful, but we all feel more beautiful when we are taken care of or taking care of ourselves, pampered and healthy. Healthy looking skin and relaxed bodies project that beauty from within.
So, here goes. Welcome to the spa lifestyle. The life you ordered has arrived.
